CANADIAN COMPLAINT “FARMERS DRIVEN OUT OF BUSINESS” By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. Reed. 9.5 a.m. OTTAWA, Thursday. An attack was made on the trade treaty between Canada and Australia by Mr. George T. McNutt, Conservative member for Colchester. He claime# that the dumping of Australian and New Zealand butter in Canada was driving the dairy farmers out of business. Mr. J. E. Sinclair (Liberal - * said he doubted whether butter prices had dropped. If Canada was to be a nation within the Empire how could she consider repudiating the treaty? The surplus dairy products of Canada four 4 a market in Britain, which controlled the price of butter. Canada was quite able to compete on the British market with the Antipodes.—A. and X.Z.
