BIG GAME FISHING GREAT SEASON IN THE NORTH (From Our Otoi Corespondent) WHANGAROA', To-day. Mr. H. White Wickham, of London, has arrived at Whangaroa to try the deep-sea fishing ground again. He had considerable luck here last season, landing 17 big fish within as many days. On his first day out yesterday, from the launch Ozone, he landed a swordfish weighing 1891 b. Mr. Stanley Ellis, Hamilton, landed a mako weighing 1601 b. FIGHTING MARLIN MR. WHITE WICKHAM’S CATCH (From Our Oxen CorrespondentJ WHANGAROA, To-day. 'The following were the catches at Whangaroa yesterday:—Mr. H. White Wickham, of London, fishing from the launch Ozone, landed a fine black marlin, weighing 4401 b (the fish put up an excellent fight for. three and a-half hours) ; Mr. Stanley Ellis, of Hamilton, landed the record striped marlin for the season, the fish weighing 3741 b, a very fine specimen. Mr. Howard Heinz, of America, arrived at Whangaroa in the launch Avalon yesterday to try out the deepsea fishing grounds here.
