FIRE AT WHANGAREI

HOUSE COMPLETELY DESTROYED JFrom Our Oven Correspondent) WHANGAREI, Thursday. A spectacular fire destroyed a sixroomed house in Morningside Road this evening. The house was owned by Mr. J. R. F. Richardson, and was occupied by Mr. A. J. Roycroft and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Roycroft were sitting on the verandah when the children, who were in the house, discovered ihe fire. It had already been burning for some time, and when the brigade arrived, handicapped as they were by low water pressure, it was impossible for them to do anything. The building was insured in the .Southern Union Office, and the furniture was insured for £ 209.
