In the open championship singles, Stratton (Hastings) beat Sir Francis Wemyss (England), 26 —11, 5 —38, 26 —21. Results in the women's championship singles, first round, are:—Mrs. Petrie (Nelson) 26 v. Mrs. Harvey (Napier) 23. Second life, first round: Mrs. Rhodes Williams (Wellington) 26 v. Mrs. Jarvie (Wanganui) 24. In the championship doubles semifinal, Archdeacon Creed Meredith and Mrs. Smith (Wanganui) 26 beat Robertson (Palmerston North.) and Mrs. Petrie (Nelson) 3. Final: Colonel Da Pre and Miss Steel (England) 26 beat Archdeacon Creed Meredith and Mrs. Smith 0.
