CARE OF BATHING COSTUME
MAKE THEM LAST LONGER Unless proper care is taken of bathing costumes they will soon wear out. They should never be put away the least bit damp or soiled, or while still full of salt. Bathing costumes ought to be washed out in cold, fresh wather after every bathe and carefully dried, and certainly at the end of the season they need special treatment if they are to be worn another year. Wash all costumes several times in cold, fresh water in order to clear away the salt. Then wash in warm water to get rid of the .chemicals which are found in sea water. Then, after drying thoroughly in the fresh air, the swimming suits can be put away for the winter, and next summer they will neither be rotten nor moth-eaten. If there are any metal buttons which have caused rust stains to appear on the costumes, just touch the marks with a little glycerine and no damage will result. Old buttons should be removed and rents, etc., repaired before storing the costumes.
