PARIS SAYS SLIGHTLY LONGER SKIRTS
The question of the lengthened skirt has been finally decided. In appearance, if not quite in reality, our autumn and winter dresses will be longer than those of yesterday, even for the street. The difference in length is not great, so far; nevertheless it exists The universally accepted uneven hem on indoor gowns take care of that. Certain among the big designers are bold enough to advocate tailc.r-mades with skirts that cut the leg halfway between knee and ankle all round but these are exceptions at the moment The slightly longer skirt fashion favours most women, especially those who are stout. It also prevents some devotees of the short skirt having their frocks so short that the pretty proportion of the figure is destroyed.
