On the night of their first appearance in Melbourne, the audience, it is stated, stood up en masse and cheered them again and again. “Tip Toes” will be presented by one of the strongest aggregation of artists yet sent on tour by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., including R. Barrett-Lennard, Cecil Kellaway, Beryl Walkeley, Leyland Hodgson, Thelma Burness, Billie Lockwood, Roy Russell, and Gordon Rodda. Probably no two better or more popular comedians than Mr. Kellaway and Mr. Barrett-Lennard have ever appeared in New Zealand Both of them last appeared here in “Katja” and “Wildflower,” when these operas were successfully staged in New Zealand. Miss Beryl Walkeley and Miss Thelma Burness have delighted playgoers in a number of successful musical plays, including “The Beggars’ Opera,” “The Chocolate Soldier” and “Sally.” Mr. Leyland Hodgson previously toured this Dominion as the leading baritone in “Leave It To Jane.” No money or care has been spared, it is said, to make “Tip Toes” the best and most popular musical play ever staged b~ the J. C. Williamson, Ltd., management and their enterprise has met with its just desserts, as “Tip Toes” now ranks second only to “Rose Marie” for popularity in both Sydney and Melbourne. The approaching season must necessarily be limited to 10 nights, but during that period the company will also stage “Queen High.” which has just terminated a very successful run in Melbourne. The box plans will be opened at Lewis Eady. Ltd., on Monday morning next at nine o’clock. A queue will be formed from 8 a.m.
