BATTALION OF ATHLETES

Germany is mobilising not far short of a battalion of athletes to contest the events at the next Olympic Games, where they will outnumber the representatives of any other nation. Champions like Dr. O. Peltzer and Koernichouben are to compete in the sprints and middle distance events. They will be supported by 65 men and 20 women in light athletics, and 40 swimmers. Furthermore, Germany will be well represented in heavy athletics, hockey, football, fencing, cycling, rowing, boxing, and gymnastics. The women's contingent totals 276.—A. and N.Z.Sun.
