PERSONAL.—Captain A. B. Sizar is taking command of the Wingatui at Auckland to-day. He arrived here by this morning’s Limited. Captain W. Howie has been appointed to the Kaituna as master.
KINTYRE AT NEW PLYMOUTH.— An arrival at New Plymouth last evening was tlie tramp steamer Kintyre from Casablanca, Morocco, with a cargo of phosphates for discharge at New Plymouth and Wanganui.
STEAMERS FOR NEWCASTLE. —The Union Company advises that the cdllier Kaiwarra leaves Auckland at 4 p.m. today and the Kairanga at 10 p.m. to-day for Newcastle. The former vessel loads for Auckland and the latter for Wellington.
IRIS IN Pacific Cable Board’suatearner Iris was removed yesterday frohi her moorings off Devonport to the Dock Wharf. She was docked at nine o’clock this morning for cleaning and painting.
KIA ORA FROM LIVERPOOL.—With general merchandise from West Coast ports of Great Britain, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Kia Ora is to be dispatched from Liverpool on February IS for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on March 27.
SUNDAY EXCURSION.—The Northern Company advises that owing to the steamer Rangitoto having been chartered for a number of private* picnics arrangements have been made for the Hauiti to make the excursion to Kawau Island next Sunday. This arrangement has necessitated the steamer Kawau leaving Mangawai for Auckland at noon on Saturday.
BASIC SLAG FROM ANTWERP. L. D. Nathan and Company, Ltd., has received advice that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Herminius, formerly the Waimana, cleared Balboa on February 5 in continuation of her voyage from Antwerp to Auckland. The vessel is bringing 6,000 tons of basic slag, all for Auckland. She is due on February 2S. En rotate from Antwerp to Auckland, the Federal Line steamer Devon cleared Newport News -on February 2. .She is also bringing about 6.000 tons of basic clag for Auckland, and is due about the end of this month. The New Zealand Shipping Company are the local agents of the Devon,
GALLIC SAILS TO-MORROW.—L. D. Nathan and Company advises that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Gallic completes loading: at Auckland to-night and sails at daybreak to-morrow for New York, Halifax, and West of England ports, via Panama. RUAPEHU LEAVES PANAMA—En route from London and Southampton to Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised by cable <hat the liner Ruapehu left Panama on February 3 for Wellington, where she is due about February 28.
HERTFORD SAlLS.—Shortly after 10 o’clock this morning the Federal steamer Hertford, which has been at Auckland under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Company, left jtere for Gisborne, thence Napier, Tiniaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington, to fill up. The vessel is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington on March 3 for London, via Panama and Southampton.
RIMUTAKA AND RUAHINE REPORT.—Radio messages received by the New Zealand Shipping Company from the liners Rimutaka and Ruahine both advise that fine weather is oeing experienced and all is well on board. The Rimutaka sayed from Auckland last Friday evening, and the Ruahine left Wellington the following morning, both liners being bound for Southampton and London, via Panama.
MATAROA FROM HOME. —The next steamer to reach New Zealand with passengers from England will be the Shaw. Savill and Albion liner Mataroa. which is due at Wellington from London and Southampton on February 16. After unloading a quantity of general merchandise at Wellington the vessel will come to Auckland about February 23 to complete discharge. A. S. Paterson and Company, Ltd., are the local agents.
WAIPAH! DUE 5 P.M. TO-DAV.—A further radio message received by the Union Company states that the Island fruit steamer Waipahi arrives at Auckland at 5 p.m. to-day from Suva. The vessel will later berth at the King’s Wharf. To-morrow evening the Waipahi leaves here' for Newcastle, thence Sydney, to load for Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. The Waipahi is expected to clear Suva again on March X for Auckland.
PORT MELBOURNE ARRIVING.—Advice received by the Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company, states that the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Melbourne left Gisborne at 11.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland. She is due off Tiri at 11 o’clock to-night, and berths at the Queen’s Wharf to-morrow morning, to continue her loading. On Saturday the vessel sails again for New Plymouth, thence Wellington and Lyttelton complete, and is scheduled to depart finally from the latter port on February 22 for London, via Panama.
STEAMERS TO LOAD.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mahana, which left London for Australia on December 24, is to load in New Zealand during March for England.
The Maimoa is to leave London on February 16 for Australia, and she is scheduled to load in New Zealand during May.
The Mamarl fs to leave London for Australia on February 10, and is to load in New Zealand during April. The Pakeha, which, left London for Australia on January 20, is also scheduled to load in New Zealand.
IN DIANOLA FROM CASA BLANCA.— Laden with a cargo of phosphates from Casa Blanca, the Gulf Transport Company’s steamer Indianola. arrived at Auckland at 9.45 p.m. yesterday, and berthed at the King’s Wharf this morning. Leaving Casa Blanca on December 22, the Indianola experienced a fineweather trip all the way. The Jndianola was built in 1912, and was used by the Germans during the war as a balloon ship.
Captain Ed. A. Aleide, who is still in command, has associated with him the following officers: Chief officer, Mr. .T. Nickolson; second officer, Mr. T. C. Higgins; third officer, Mr. J. Lutright: radio clerk, Mr. P. Mullinger; chief engineer, Mr. I*. E. Ward; second engineer, Mr. R. Jones; third engineer, Mr. W. C. Cotton; fourth engineer, Mr. L. Shaw; and chief steward, Mr. J. Corish.
Henderson and Macfarlane, the local agents, hope to dispatch the vessel on Saturday for Lyttelton, where she completes discharge. STEAMERS FROM LIVERPOOL. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Federal Line steamer Somerset was to leave Liverpool last Saturday with general merchandise from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lvttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She is due at Auckland on March 12.
Also with cargo from West Coast ports of Great Britain, the Tongariro is to clear Liverpool on March 3 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on April 9. The Turakina on March 17 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. Due Auckland April 24. The Norfolk on April 14 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. Due Auckland May 22. The Huntingdon on April 28 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. Due Auckland June 5.
The Hereford on May 26 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. Due Auckland July 3. The Cambridge on June 23 for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. Due Auckland July 31. The Westmoreland on July 7 for Auckland, Wellington, LytMslton and Port Chalmers. Due Auckland on August 14.
