The Governor-General has appointed the following six members;— Mr. John Brown, of Lowrliffo, Ca*. terbury. farmer. Mr. Thomas Eustace Corkili, o» Wellington, retired banker. Colonel James Jacob Esson, C.M G of Wellington, financial adviser to the Government. Mr. Norton Francis, C.M.G. rj Christchurch, company director. Mr. John Norman Massey, of Pn n j Auckland, farmer. Mr. William Waddel, of Wellingtoi. superintendent of the State Advances Office. The foregoing, together with s r John William Macdonald, the PuWk Trustee, are to constitute the board. In addition, the Governor-General has, under Section 9 of the Act, pointed Colonel Essou to be chains,, of the board, to hold office during tit; Governor-General's pleasure. The first meeting of the board is. under Section S of the Act, to be held at a time and place to be appointed by the Minister of Finance. As soo, as the necessary preliminary wort which has been very heavy, has ben completed in the direction of bringinj the Act into operation and linking o, the machinery with the existing organisation of the Public Tmst Office, the Act will be launched and applications for loans will be dealt with.
