SUBURBAN TRANSPORT

COMMISSION NEXT MONTH No announcement is yet available as to when the Transport Commission will sit in Auckland. The Prime Minister has replied to a protest from Mr. V. H. Potter, M.P., in the following strain: “The City Council recently made certain suggestions which appear to me to be quite reasonable in the meantime. Apparently, however, from your statement these have been abortive of temporary assistance. Although I have thought the matter over carefully, I cannot see any immediate solution other than awaiting the result of the commission’s inquiry. For certain reasons the commission will be unable to commence investigations until March.”
