“THE FLAME OF THE YUKON” An echo from real life of the Klondike and Yukon territory gold strikedays comes to the Britannia Theatre to-night in the new version of “The Flame of the Yukon/’ Real name* and real persons of the old Klondike and Yukon days were used bv the author for all but one of the characters. “The Flame” originally portrayed by Dorothy Dalton, and now by ‘Metropolitan’s featured star, Seena Owen, actually used and earned her name during those hectic days. So did Black Jack Hovey. Sourdough Joe, Solo Jim. and Dolly, originally called Dance-hall Dolly. “The Flam*of the Yukon” is a melodramatic storv of th€J Canadian North-west —a thrilling. virile, pulsating romance of gold rush, days, when men fought, loved, and died in their mad search fo» riches, and of a dance-hall girl woo found her soul in love’s crucible The Romance of Hinemoa” will also be screened to-night.

A new ranch of 2,700 acres in California, was recently opene-’ by the Paramount studies and in the future it is expected to be the scene for virtuallv all exterior shots in Paramount Pictures. As it is developed further it is expected entirely to replace the present Lasky ranch. There are t*i permanent buildings on the ranch now. and two score stages. Outdoor shots requiring special locations, of course, still xCrill be made wherever the necessary elements are found.
