RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM

Ethlyne Clair, who leads all the western heroines for good looks, is the heroine of "Painted Ponies,” which is the thrilling and laughable screen story of Bucky Sims, champion cowboy of the north. He blows into Toptown to compete in the annual rodeo, falls in love with a pretty girl who runs a merry-go-round and gains the enmity of Pinto Pete, his rival in riding and love. Pinto commits a crime and frames Bucky, who is thrown in gaol the day before the big show, and if that isn’t: enough to rouse the fighting blood of any movie fan listen to this: A great part of the film was shot at the famous Saugus, California rodeo and the sequences of the bronco busting. steer roping and other cowboy athletics are the greatest ever incorporated in a motion picture.
