Cahan, Conservative member tot St. Lawrence and St. George’s, said it had been laid down by the Privy Council that the Parliament of Australia and the Parliament of Canada had not a jurisdiction equal to that of Mexico, Patagonia or any Pnwer, from Liberia down to Monaco. He referred to the power to bring home and to punish by Australian or 'anadian law its citizens who might hy guilty of a crime beyond the coniines of their own States. —A. and N.Z.
