PERSONAL.—Mr. R. E. Suckling is now second officer of the Tamahine. Mr. G. M. Schofield recently reported as having passed for his mate’s certificate has relieved Mr. C. G. Welch, third officer of the Kurow, for holidays. Mr. E. V. Bilger has reported as having passed for extra master at Sydney, and is rejoining the R.M.M.S, Aorangi as junior third officer at Sydney , this trip. Mr. W. J. Weber is being promoted senior third officer, relieving Mr. G. H. Kime for holidays. Mr. L. P. Bourke recently passed his examination for mate at Sydney. Captain R. Huntly arrived from Sydney this week and is at present awaiting instructions at Wellington. THE GABRI ELL A.—Messrs. C. F. Millward and Company advise that the steamer Gabriella is due at Wanganui to-morrow morning from Newcastle and Sydney. DEVON LEAVES NEWPORT NEWS. —The New Zealand Shipping Company has received cabled news that the Devon, en route from Antwerp to Auckland, cleared Newport News on February 1. IKALA LEAVES ST. JOHN.—Cabled news received by the New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Jkala cleared St. John on January 31 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth and Australia. MATATUA AT SUVA.—The Shaw. Savill Company has received cabled news that the Matatifa, from London, arrived at Suva on Thursday last. The vessel is to leave again to-day for Dunedin, where she is due on February 11. ULIMAROA LEAVES SYDNEY.— Cabled news has been received by the Huddart Parker Company that the Ulimaroa left Sydney at noon on Friday for Wellington. She is due at Wellington tomorrow morning. The vessel is due at Wellington on March 13, and at Auckland a week later. The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Company will be the local agents. PORT MELBOURNE’S ITINERARY. — The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Company have been advised that the C. and D. Line’s steamer Port Melbourne leaves Gisborne to-morrow evening for Auckland, where she is due on Thursday morning to continue her loading. 4 h vessel sails again next Saturday evening for New Plymouth, Wellington and Lyttelton to complete loading and is scheduled to depart finally from Lyttelton on February 22 for London, via Panama. DEWEY ARRIVING.—A further radio message received by Henderson and Macfarlane states that the American steamer Dewey is now expected to arrive in the stream at Auckland at » o’clock this evening from the Pacific Coast ports. After pratique has been granted, the vessel berths at the Central Wharf to land the local portion of her cargo before proceeding to W ellington, thence Timaru and (Dunedin to complete. HERTFTRD DUE TO-MORROW. —To continue lier loading under the agency of the New Zealand Shipping, Company, the Federal steamer Hertford left New Plymouth at 5.30 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, where she is due at 7 -a.m.’tomorrow. From this port the Hereford proceeds to Gisborne, thence Napier, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington, to complete, and should clear the latter port finally on March 3 for London, via Panama and Southampton. PORT BOWEN'S PROGRAMME. —Advice has been received by Heather, Roberton and Company that the C. and 1). Line’s steamer Port Bowen, which is due at Opua on February 20 from Australia, for loading, will now arrive here on February 23 to lift a portion of the local cargo before proceeding on her original itinerary. From this port the vessel goes to Gisborne, thence Napier, Wellington, New' Plymouth, and then returns to Auckland about March 2 for final loading. She sails finally from Auckland on March 6 for London and West of England ports, via Panama. WARSHIPS’ MOVEMENTS. —After an eight days’ visit to Whangaroa, H.M.S. Dunedin returned to Auckland on Saturday evening. The warship is scheduler] to remain in port until February 16, when she is to depart on a month’s cruise to southern ports. She will visit New Plymouth, Port Hardy, Westport, Greymouth, Milford Sounds, Paterson’s Inlet, Timaru, Akaroa, Lyttelton and Wellington in that order. She will return to Auckland from the cruise on April 17. H.M.S. Diomede, now at Russell, is to return to Auckland on Thursday morning to replenish her oil fuel tanks. The same day she w r ill sail on a cruise to east coast and southern ports. From Auckland the Diomede will proceed first to Gisborne and afterwards she will visit Napier, Wanganui, Greymouth. West Coast Sounds, Paterson’s Inlet, Dunedin, Akaroa, Lyttelton, Picton and Sounds, and Wellington. She will return to Auckland on May 3. Both warships are scheduled to rendezvous off Greymojith on February 27 to carry out exercises. Night exercises will also be carried out at the West Coast Sounds. At Paterfcon Inlet and Akaroa, where the two warships will again meet, the crews from both ships will be exercised at harbour drills, and they will also •attend a regatta at both ports.
