FIRE AT OTAHUHU

HOUSE DAMAGED The roof of a house in Chelsea Avenue, Otahuhu, owned and occupied by Mrs. G. Chellew, was almost totally destroyed by fire early yesterday morning. The contents were damaged by smoke and water. Mrs. Chellew, who was alone in the building, was awakened by the smoke and gave the alarm. The Otahuhu Brigade was soon on the scene and prevented the flames from spreading. The house was insured for ,£4lO with the National Insurance Company, and for £230 with the New Zealand Company. The contents are insured for £t>o.
