STORY TIME

Story time was a good time for Don and Bob, because they were twins, so they always had two stories told to them. Their mummy had to tell them most of their stories because their dad was the captain of a .big boat and he wasn’t home very much. They loved to hear stories about boats and the different lands their Daddy visited and he used to bring them presents every time he canle home. One night they were sitting on the steps waiting for their Mummy to finishes the dishes and then tell them their bedtime story when they heard somebody coming round the house, and it was their own Daddy, with lovely presents for Mummy and them, but, best of all,, when he told them their story it was about himself and how he wouldn’t have to go away for a lot of days, as his ship was going into dock, and both Don and Bob said it was the best story they had ever heard. —Dick Schofield (aged 6).
