And Shakespeare Said—?
At a command performance at Palladium, London, Reginald Sharland and Billy Merson played Hamlet a la mode, something like this :— Hamlet: "To be or not to be? That is the — don’t cut me off, please, Miss—question!’* Attendant: "A ghost to see you, sir." Hamlet: "What sort of a ghost?" Attendant: "An invisible ghost.” Hamlet: "Tell him 1 can’t see him." And other such foolery as would have made Will Shakespeare sit up and take notes for future comedy scenes. Will loved a bright idea, and wasn’t above borrowing it. Mr. Sharland is at present playing in "The Girl Friend" in Sydney.
