MARCELLA BATELUNI
FOX FILM CONTEST WINNER Marcella Batell.ini. winner of the Fox Film contest in Italy, has been rapidly learning the work of motion pictures pince arriving in Hollywood, and her first appearance on the screen was in *l Fox comedy entitled “Twenty Legs under the Sea.” This production was directed by Robert Ray. Since that time Miss Batellini has appeared in atmospheric work in “Publicity Madness” directed by Albert Ray, with Lois Moran and Edmund Lowe playing the leading roles. She has also appeared in atmospheric work in “Very Confidential” with James Tin ling directing and Madge Bellamy the star. She has learned rapidly and will be cast in other pictures during the coming season. “Publicity Madness,*' Lois Moran’s first starring picture for Fox Films, is to be screened shortly in Auckland. In this clever story of modern finance and publicity stunts. Miss Moran emerges from the drab character of an old-fashioned girl into one of the most modern of dappers—and incidentally has her hair bobbed as part of the picture. Edmund Lowe is co-starred with Miss Moran in the role of a salesman—a part that gives opportunity to prove his ability as a character actor. Besides the principals the cast includes E. J. Rateliffe, James Gordon, Arthur Housman, Bryan Munson, and Norman Peck. This picture, which promises to give a novel angle to an old problem, is based on an original story by AAita Loos.
