Mr. C. Pitman, the old Etonian athlete, flew in a Moth airplane to Eton College on December 20 to fetch his brother, P. Pitman, for the Christmas holidays, and created great excitement among the boys. The picture shows some of the Eton boys watching Mr. Pitman starting the propellor of his plane ready for the return journey. Note the well known Eton headgear, worn despite the wintry weather. A football match nearby was held up while the boys went to have a look at the plane.
