FAREWELL AND WELCOME

FUNCTION AT ST. DAVID’S REV. D. C. HERRON TO GO ABROAD The Rev. D. C. Herron and Mrs. Herron, who are about to visit England on holiday were bade farewell by members of St. David’s Presbyterian Church and friends last evening. A welcome was also extended to the Rev I. E. Bertram and Mrs. Bertram. Mr. J. Fleming expressed the good wishes of the congregation to Mr. and Mrs. Herron and referred to the success of Mr. Herron’s eight years’ ministry. He presented Mr. Herron with a roll of notes and a camera as a token of esteem and Mrs. Herron received a travelling rug from the ladies of the congregation. While abroad Mr. Herron will be one of the two New Zealand delegates at the World Missionary Convention at Jerusalem. Mr. and Mrs. Bertram, who will take the place of Mr. and Mrs. Herron until their return, were welcomed by Mr. D. Macpherson and assured of the hearty support of the congregation.
