At the trial of Johann Schreck on charges of betraying military secrets to a foreign Power, the accused denied that he was concerned with the Zmovieff letters, as had been alleged. The State Prosecutor demanded a sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment for Schreck, two years’ for his associate. Kich, and six months’ for Schultz. He said it was evident from the evidence of Mertens, the German political fugitive, that very dangerous things went on iin the dark room of No. 1, Anhalt Strasse, where Schreck and Mertens flitted. —-A- and N»Z. ___
