NEW REGENT

BEBE DANIELS TO-MORROW Owing to the abnormal bookings and phenomenal attendances during the week, the season of Max,, Moritz and Akka, those astounding monkeys, lias been extended to Saturday next. These almost human chimpanzees appear afternoon and evening and provide what must certainly be the most remarkable demonstration of animal sagacity and intelligence ever seen on the stage. Their performance, however, is not cne only of cleverlytrained tricks —theirs is a natural entertainment, their impisht unrehearsed antics, and the natural happy jollity of their own work, simply keeps their audience in roars of laughter. For the convenience of the many school children, who have not yet been able to get into the theatre, tlje monkeys will appear at 4.5 each afternoon instead of three. The full picture programme precedes the monkeys, commencing at 2.30, and also fallows them, finishing at 6.15. Although the monkeys will be going on till Saturday, an entire change of picture programme will be made tomorrow. To-day is the final screening of W. C. Field in “Running Wild,” and to-night Eddie Horton makes his farewell appearance in New Zealand, prior to sailing to-morrow for Sydney. Bebe Daniels in “Swim, Gir!, Swim,” is the new feature commencing tomorrow. An item of great interest is the appearance in this film of Gertrude Ederle, the girl who swam the English Channel. “Swim, Girl. Swim,” is a typical Bebe Daniels story, brilliant in its comedy, delightful with the great personal charm of Bebe herself. Members of the cast in support of Miss Daniels in “Swim, Girl, Swim,” are James Hall. Josephine Dunn, and William Austin. Clarence Badger directed.
