EARL OF WARWICK DEAD
ADVENTUROUS CAREER SOLDIER AND JOURNALIST British Wireless—Press Assn.—Copyright Reed. 12.30 p.m. RUGBY, Tuesday. The Early of Warwick died to-day at the age of 45 after an adventurous career. When olny 17 years old (he was then Lord Brooke) he ran away from home and enlisted as a private for service in the South African War. He was granted a commission and fought at Diamond Hill and in other engagements, and eventually became aide-de-camp to Lord Milner. In the Russo-Japanese War he had a thrilling experience as special correspondent with the Russian Army. At the outbreak of the Great War he was appoined aide-de-camp to Sir John French ,and subsequently commander the Fourth Canadian Infantry Brigade.—A. and N.Z.
