Sir Robert Borden has been elected president of the National Council of Canada and Institute of International Affairs. Mr. John W. Dafoe, of Winnipeg, has been appointed vice-presi-dent. —A. and N.Z. The Right Hon. Sir Robert Borden, G.C.M.G.. P.C., K.C., M.P., was born in 1854, and called to the Bar in 1573. He represented Canada at the Imperial War Cabinet in 1917 and 1918 ancl the Imperial War Conference in the same years. He was chief plenipotentiary delegate of Canada at the Peace Conference in 1919, and also at the Washington Conference, 1921-22.
