The Hickman defence is making a desperate attempt to save the murderer of Marian Parker, the 12-year-old schoolgirl, from the gallows by asserting that his mother has been insane for many years and has murderous tendencies. The records of the asylum where she was once a patient have been introduced at the trial.—A. and N.Z.
