MAJESTIC
SYD. CHAPLIN AT HIS BEST First on the big laughter programme at the Majestic Theatre is “The Missing Link,” a hilarious comedy with Syd Chaplin in the starring role, and supported by “Akka,” the almost human chimpanzee. •Again proving his great versatility, Syd Chaplin plays three characters in one, in his present starring vehicle, “The Missing Link,” which Charles F. Reisner directed for Warner Bros. Syd plays a London derelict, who in turn plays the part of a lord, who m turn plays the part of a Scotsman. This triple characterisation was the cause of many outbursts of laughter during the making of the film, for it was a very difficult thing toy Syd to remember which character he was playing. Chaplin is supported in this .uproarious farce by Ruth Hiatt, Tom McGuire, Crauford Kent, Sam Baker, and many others. The INlajestic Orchestra under the baton of Mr. Wliite'ford-Waugh plays a superb musical programme, and by special request renders as its musical interlude, “Der Freischutz” (Weber). The supporting programme is composed of the popular Majestic News, a very interesting scenic of Alaska, an unusual comedy, “Second 200 Years,” and one of those clever Aesop Fable cartoons, “Aged in Wood.’”
