ROSKILL ROAD BOARD
BUS SERVICE ALTERATIONS At the ordinary meeting of the Mount Roskill Road Board held last evening, the chairman, Mr. E. F. Jones, complained of the alterations made in the time-table of the Buckland Road bus service. Under the altered time-table, people who commenced work in the city at 8 a.m., h&d to catch a bus leaving at 6.50 a.m., reaching the city half an hour or 40 minutes before it was necessary. It was decided to appeal to the City Council to increase the number of trips between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. The Mount Albert Borough Council sought the co-operation of the board toward urging the Auckland Power Board to switch off all street Tights at midnight, but as the lights in the Mount Roskill district are already extinguished at that hour the question was deferred. Eight building permits were granted during the past fortnight to the value of £2,049. Fifteen buildings are in the course of erection in the district. The engineer reported that the work of house numbering was proceeding satisfactorily. The general account is in debit to the amount of £3,277, and various loans are £1,556 in credit.
