Further Increases Certain J THE world shortage of Hides has caused the market to rise steadily during the past nine months. In March last Hides were selling at 7d per lb.; this week they were 14fd per lb.—more than double. Sole leather has been advanced by the tanners from 2/2 to 3/2 per lb. Kip has risen from 2/3 to 3/6 per lb. Chrome from lOd to 1/4 per square foot—more than 30 per cent.
