In the Australian lawn tennis championships, in the men’s singles, Borotra (France) defeated Sproule (New South Wales), 6—2, 6—o, 6—3. In the men's doubles, Boussus and Kalms defeated Colvin and Sproule, New' South Wales, 6—l, 6—3, 6—4. Borotra and Brugnon beat Coran and Munns, B—6,8 —6, 6 —o, 6 —3. The courts were fast and true. Borotra in his usual irresistible form took the net at every opportunity. At the start of the game the pace forced him into occasional errors, but he soon settled down and played a careful, aggressive volleying game. In the final of the women’s doubles championship, Miss Boyd and. Miss D. Akhurst (New South Wales) beat Miss Lenessurier and Miss Weston (South Australia), 6—3, 6—1.-—A. and N.Z.
