MR. GROUNDS AND THE BAY SEAT

INVITED TO STAND WILL DECIDE SOON (Special to THE SUN.) KAITAIA, To-day. There seems to be a possibility that Mr. Allen Bell, M.P., will be opposed for the Bay of Islands seat at this year’s general election by Mr. W. Grounds, chairman of the Dairy Produce Control Board.

In response to a largely signed petition presented to him by Captain Rushworth and Mr. J. W. Jones, of the Farmers’ Union, Mr. Grounds said: “I will give you my decision in a *few days.” The petition was presented to Mr. Grounds at Broadwood yesterday. Opinion strongly favours him accepting the request.
