EDENDALE

FEATURE PROGRAMME Six months to live! Simon de Cex. M.P., doomed to die at the end of six months, looked upon life as a huge joke—hence his title “Simon the Jester.” For it is in “Simon the Jester” that Simon, who is given but a f3w weeks to live, seeks out—not the fashionable resorts, the colourful and restful fastness of the mountains, but in solitude he. starts to enjoy his last days upon earth. Then through a chain of startling circumstances his mode of living is changed. Lillian Rich, Eugene O’Brien. Henry Walthall. Edmund Burns and William H. Platt are well cast in this excellent production, which will be shown at the Eden dale Theatre tonight.

“Don Mike,’* starring Fred Thomson, and also to be shown to - night, opens with a vivid, colourful atmospheric scene of the old Spanish regime, and plunges from that immediately into the story, which grows steadily in absorbing interest and suspense to the final glorious climax. Thomson himself has taken full advantage of the splendid opportunities offered for spirited and dramatic action, and with the assistance, of masterly direction and an unusually fine supporting cast, lie has produced a film that will rank with the best of historical Western epics. Fritz Feld has been signed for "The Last Command.” the new Emil Jannings’ picture for Paramount.
