BOWLING AND CROQUET

CLUBS FOR PIOPIO For some time past the proposal to form bowling and. croquet clubs at Piopio has been exercising the minds of a number of prominent local residents, and with this end in view an energetic committee is circularising the township and surrounding district in order to ascertain what amount of support will be forthcoming. An option has been secured over a very suitable piece of land, and the proposed subscriptions are three guineas to the bowling club and two guineas to the croquet club, but if sufficient support is extended to the scheme these rates may possibly be reduced. That the project will be carried to a successful issue is almost a foregone conclusion.
