A Hopeless Case.—Described as being a hopeless case and being a man with whom nothing could be done, James Gregg Cummings (76) was today sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for being an idle and disorderly person. Bookmaker Remanded.—Arrested in TVairoa Road, Devonport, yesterday, Robert Francis Bennett, alias Butler Bennett, to-day appeared in the Police Court, charged with loitering in that road for the purpose of betting. On the application of Senior-Sergeant Cummings, he was remanded until Thursday, ball of ,£IOO being allowed.
