CHERNIAVSKYS’ RETURN THEIR CANADIAN BRIDES “We are always glad to be back in New Zealand. Somehow we feel that we are at home here.” \ S the Cherniavsky brothers have A been visiting us since 1908, and this is their seventh visit —a record no other artist has eclipsed—they have every right to feel at home in the Dominion. “We came as boys, and I think you liked us. At any rate, we like you,” enthusiastically declared Jan Cherniavsky, the pianist of the trio, who arrived with his wife, and brother Michel.. _ Mrs. Michel is remaining in Canada, keeping a maternal eye upon her three boys. Jan, too, has married since he was last in New Zealand. He Is the proud father of a boy and a girl. Leo, who also married a Canadian bride, will meet his brothers in Wellington, where they commence a six weeks' tour of the Dominion on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Leo have been enjoying a quiet holiday in Sydney. Though all the brothers have flats in London, within a mile radius of each other, they find it almost impossible to spend any time in their respective homes. “But such Is the life of an artist,” says Jan, with a philosophic air—“We must expect it.” As travelling minstrels, the Cherniavskys have created a world record sine they first visited New Zealand as small boys In velvet suits. Their total mileage, says Jan very proudly, is now well over the 1,000,000 mark. The party will leave for Wellington by to-night’s express.
