LOOKING ON

THE racing at Takapuna on -*• Saturday was remarkably free from any suspicion of rough riding, although there was any amount of incompetent horsemanship. There was one incident, however, that did not look at all well, and yet those responsible appeared to get away with it, probably by reason of the fact that the rider was blamed. One the other hand it appeared as if the horse concerned was “not wanted,” on Saturday at any rate. Followers of the stable were among those to fall for it, from all accounts.
