PERSONAL..—Captain G. Robertson is master of the Union Company’s steamer Kanna, which was recommissioned at Auckland recently. The following are his* officers; —Chief, Mr. H. Evington; second, Mr. R. Alison; ■wireless operator, Mr. N. Whitlock; chief engineer, Mr. P. Macdonald; second, Mr. T. Wilson; third, Mr. T. Taylor; chief steward, Mr. A. Noyer. The Ivaitangata was recommissioned at Auckland recently and sailed on Wednesday for Southern ports. Captain R. Kane is in command and the following are his officers:—Chief, Mr. N. Bouette; second, Mr. 1-1. Ruegg; third, Mr. T. Saddler: wireless operator, Mr. W. Taylor: chief engineer, Mr. D. Kerr; second, Mr. H. Woodley; third, Mr. A. S. Ashley; chief steward, Mr. T. Fitzgerald. After being la\d up since before Christmas, the Northern Company’s steamer Apanui was recommissioned last Saturday and sailed for Mercury Bay and Totara North. Captain A. Pert is the master and the following are his officers: — Chief, Mr. B. Johnson; second, Mr. M. Jackson-Fowler; chief engineer, Mr. Robert Mudie. . . Mr. D. J. Osborne-White signed off as second officer of the New Zealand Government steamer Hinemoa. Mr. J. W. Richmond has taken his place. Captain G. Heatley has relieved Captain F. B. Wells, of the Pono, for holidays. “ALL WELL'’ ON TAMAROA.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Taraaroa, which left Auckland on Saturdav for Southampton and London, sent the following radio message on Tuesday: •‘All well. Have had head wind since leaving Auckland.” TURAKINA AT LONDON. —A cable message to the New Zealand Shipping Company announces that the Turakina arrived at London on Tuesday from Wellington. The vessel left there on December 19 for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain. The voyage was made in 36 days. TAINUI LEAVES SAN FRANCISCO. —The Union Company reports that the R.M.S. Tahiti left San Francisco on Wednesday for Papeete, Rarotonga, Wellington and Sydney. She is due at Wellington on February 13. THE HAURAKI.—The Union Company advises that the Hauraki is to clear San Francisco to-day with Pacific Coast cargo for Auckland. Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
TOFUA SAILS TO-MORROW.—At 11 I a.m. to-morrow the Union Company hopes j to dispatch the Island passenger steamer 1 Tofua from Auckland for Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa. NILE TO LOAD PHOSPHATES. —Henderson and Macfarlane advise that the tramp steamer Nile, on completion of her discharge at New Plymouth, proceeds tc Nauru Island to load phosphates for Australia or New Zealand. KAIAPOI DUE SUNDAY. —En route from Walpole Island and Noumea, the Union Company advises that the Kaiapo. is expected to arrive at Auckland on Sunday. The vessel sailed from Noumea last Tuesday evening. KAIWARRA FROM MELBOURNE. — The local office of the Union Company advises that the Kaiwarra, which left Melbourne noon last Tuesday for Auckland, will after discharge here proceec. to Newcastle to load for Auckland. WAIHEMO DOCKS. —The Union Company advises that the Waihemo, which arrived at Auckland this morning irom Westport and went into dock for cleaning and painting, undocks to-morrow and leaves for the Pacific Coast, where she loads for New Zealand and Australia. SYDNEY STEAMERS FOR NEW ZEALAND.—The Union Company advises that the Marama leaves Sydney at 3 p.m. to-day for Auckland and the Maunganui sails the same time for Wellington. Both vessels are due at their arrival ports i next Tuesday morning. i ANNIVERSARY DAY.—Owing to Monday being Anniversary Day and a holiday, the local office of the Union Company advises that for the convenience of passengers the office of the company will be opened between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. RIMUTAKA DUE SUNDAY. —Due at Auckland on Sunday from Opua, the New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Rimutaka will berth at the Central Wharf to complete her loading for Home. The Rimutaka is to sail finally from this port at 5 p.m. on Thursday next, February 2, for Southampton and London, via Panama. NORTHUMBERLAND TO LOAD.—The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the Federal steamer Northumberland may not leave New Plymouth until Monday for Auckland to continue her loading for Home. From this port the vessel proceeds to Napier, thence Wellington, tD complete, and is scheduled to clear the latter port on Febi'uary 11 for London and West of England ports via Panama: (1 TAINUrS MOVEMENTS.—-A. S. Paterson and Company advise that the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Tainui, now completing her discharge at Auckland, later commences loading here and leaves oa Tuesday for Tokoraaru Bay, thence Lyttelton, Pic ton and Wellington to complete her loading. She is expected to clear Wellington finally on February 15 for Southampton and London via Panama. WAIOTAPU RADlOS.—According to a radio message received by the Union Company, the trans-Pacific cargo steamer Waiotapu is due in the stream at Auckland at 11 a.m. to-morrow from the Pacific Coast ports. The vessel will later berth at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her cargo before pro - ceeding to Wellington, thence Melbourne, Sydney and Newcastle to complete.
PACIFIC COAST CARGO.—The West Nivaria is to sail from San Pedro on February 4 for Auckland, Wellington and Lyttelton. She is due at Auckland cn February 29. The West Cpnob will follow on March 3 for Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin (due Auckland March 28); the West Elcajon on March 31 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton (due Auckland April 25); the Crosskeys c n April 28 for Auckland, Wellington aid Dunedin (due Auckland May 23). HERTFORD TO LOAD.—The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Hertford, at present completing discharge at Dunedin, will next proceed to load for London at Port Chalmers, and will leave that port on February 6 for Auckland, Gisborne, Napier, Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. • The vessel is due at Wellington on February 27, and will sail finally from there on March 3 for Southampton and London, via Panama. AORANGI CLEARS SUVA. —Cable advice received by the local office of the Union Company statesx that the R.M.M.S. Aorangi, en route from Vancouver and way ports, left Suva at- 9 p.m. yesterday for Auckland. The vessel is due here on Sunday afternoon. Owing to Monday being a holiday, the departure of the Aorangi has been postponed until S p.m. on Tuesday, -when she will leave Auckland for Sydney. GALLIC AT NAPIER.—-Due at Napier this morning from Wellington, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Gallic later proceeds to Gisborne, thence Auckland to complete her loading. She is due here on Tuesday next and is announced to sail finally from this port on February 9 for New York, Halifax, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Panama. L. D. Nathan and Company will act as the local loading agents. ARAWA’S PROGRAMME.—L. D. Nathan and Company advises that the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Arawa leaves Auckland to-morrow for Wellington thence Lyttelton and Dunedin, to complete her discharge of Liverpool cargo. The vessel will later load at Pert Chalmers, thence Lyttelton, Bluff, Napier, Waikokopu, and Wellington, and is scheduled to sail* finally from Wellington on March 2 for Southampton and London, via Panama. HUNTINGDON TO LOAD.—-The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Huntingdon, now completing discharge at Port Chalmers, will next proceed to Bluff, where she is due on February 11 to commence loading for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain. From Bluff the ship will return to Port Chalrner.® f , or further loading, and afterwards 2™ u 1T . lo ®£ also at Timaru, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Huntingdon is due at Wellington on February 23, and will sail finally from there on February 25 for Southampton, London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool.
CUMBERLAND'S ITI N E R ARY.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Cumberland arrived at Napier at 1 p.m, on Wednesday from Picton, to continue oading for London. The vessel will leave Napier on Saturday lor New Plymouth, Wanganui and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on February 13, and will sail finally from there on February IS for London, via Panama. ULIMAROA SAJLS FOR SYDNEY. At 15 minutes past 11 tnis morning the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa sailed from Auckland with passengers, mails and cargo for Sydney.
