CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING PLAY AT WANGANUI Press Association. WANGANUI, Thursday. The North Island croquet championship tourney opened here to-da’v in glorious weather. Competitors are present from all parts of the Dominion. Results of the first life in the women’s championship are as follow: Mrs. Len Watkin beat Mrs. McDougal, Mrs. R. Watkins beat Mrs. Fulton, Mrs. E. A. Johnson beat Mrs. Leech, Mrs. Pitcaithly beat Mrs. Cowling, Mrs. Jarvie beat Mrs.. Walling-Jones. Handicap Singles: Mr. Caughley beat Mrs. Brabant, Colonel Saviile beat Mrs. Ball, Mrs. Coutts beat Mrs. Ballingall. An English party of croquet players arrive to-morrow.
