She came into prominence last season, 'when, after Dr. Dorothy Logan’s sensational Channel hoax, she announced that she would prove her own swim was genuine by swimming the Channel again. After a plucky effort, she had to be taken out of the ice-cold water in a semi-conscious condition. Miss Gleitie'* latest attempt to add to her laurels was an unsuccessful effort to swim the Straits of Gibraltar.
