A FEW HINTS
TO protect furs, sprinkle with black pepper and lay away in tho dark. Moths will not touch them. Rub plates, tables, stoves, or anything greasy with newspaper before washing or polishing. Do not use soda to clean aluminium. A little pumice powder on a damp rag is most effective. Sponges can be easily cleaned by squeezing them in water to which tho juice of a lemon has been added. Cotton is better than silk for mending gloves, as it soon soils to the colour of the gloves and becomes unnoticeable. Acid stains can be removed from materials by sponging them with ammonia. To clean very tarnished silver, n»ix a few drops of ammonia, instead of water, with the plate powder. Pencil marks on paint or v/oodwork can be removed by rubbing with a freshly-cut lemon und afterwards with whting amd a soft cloth.
