“TRADING IN CHINA”
THE ADVERTISING CLUB “Trading Conditions in China” formed the subject of an address by Mr. H. M. Marshall at the first luncheon of the year of the Auckland Advertising Club yesterday. Mr. C. M. Cox presided in the absence of the president. . v Mr. Marshall, who has spent 20 years in the East, expressed the opinion that with the coming of stable Government China would prove a great market to be exploited. One of the chief problems to be solved was that of transport. Roads were often practically impassable during the winter months, but against that, o railway travel was comfortable and expeditious. Regarding advertising, Mr. Marshall said that the large oil concerns were almost the only firms which undertook display work through the medium of posters.
