RUTH LEE TAYLOR
“THE BLONDE GOLD DIGGER” Ruth Lee Taylor has been selected by Paramount to play the role of Lorelet Lee, the blonde “gold-digger,” in the screen version of Anita. Loo’s “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." Miss Taylor was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in January, 1907. on Friday, the 13tli. When she v.as two years old. her parents moved to Portland. Oregon, where she atended school and was graduated from high school in June, 1925. Amateur dramatics had whetted her appetite for theatricals, and she prevailed upon her mother to bring her to Hollywood to- seek aim tame A vear as an extra girl resulted in a contract with the Mack Sennett studios, and after two years there she decided that her talents were deserving of bigger and belter things. «jlie left the Sennett studio, convinced that her “big role" was “just around the corner.” But she waited for three months, and had just about decided to give up a screen career when site wns called to the Paramount studio, for the Lorelei test, _■" .
