RAILWAY APPOINTMENT
MR. ROUSSELL’S PROMOTION TRANSPORT SUPERINTENDENT (From Ovr Resident Reporter .) , WELLINGTON, To-day. Mr. P. G. Roussell, who is well known in the Auckland district, has been appointed General Superintendent of Transportation of the Government Railways In succession to the late Mr. A. K. Harris. Joining the railways in 1893 at Auckland, Mr. Roussell went to New Plymouth and then was stationmaster of Turakina, Otahuhu and Te Aroha In succession. At the beginning of the Great War he was assistant relieving officer in Auckland, and after being in charge of Henderson station for a short time he went into the district office at Auckland. From Ohakune he came to the head offices in Wellington four years ago, and In 1925 he was appointed secretary to the Railway Board. Since 1926 he has been acting-Superintendent of Transportation.
