WROATH AND KERR BOWL WELL When Green Lane started batting conditions were not ideal for cricket. The haziness was very trying to the eyes and the wicket which is showing signs of wear under the severe strain of insufficient water and broiling suns, was very fiery and fast. Kerr’s deliveries were rising quite often but occasionally he was able to keep a ball low. The best stand of the innings was between Shepherd and E. Watts. Both played delightful cricket, particularly the former, whose top score was a pretty mixture of powerful hitting and sound defence. Seccombe hit some strong shots but was more than frequently beaten by Kerr’s “wrong ’uns.” Shepherd, who joined the. club this season, was unfortunately ’ incapacitated early in the season, and Saturday was his first outing for some time but he shows signs of making some big scores; in matches to come.
