O’Connor, M.P., has per* sonally written to the Home Secretary, Sir William Joynson-Hicks, and Treasury officials, stating that he is aghast at the audacity of a certain dog-racing bookmaker, who has advertised himself on the back of Treasury notes. There are hundreds of these notes in circulation in North-east London, They bear the bookmaker’s name, followed by the words: “Safe as the bank.’’ It is stated that the law at present has no grounds for prosecution, but the Treasury is consulting legal experts on the cuestion.—A. and N.Z.-Sun.
