OTAGO’S DISHEARTENING DAY Plunket Shield Cricket A HUGE first innings total which fell only 12 short of the 500 mark, put Wellington in a well night impregnable position against Otago in the Plunket Shield match at Dunedin on Saturday, although Otago, after a disheartening series of reverses, made a spectacular recovery late on Saturday afternoon. To-dav, Otago is continuing its gallant effort ' to avert an innings defeat.
