CHILD’S BUSINESS SENSE TROUBLE FOR 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL When mother went to hospital the ’3-year-old daughter seized the opportunity of pawning the maternal wardrobe of Hve dresses for Ss 6d. This might have been settled at a utmiiy council, but the daughter was e ®boldened that she took a neighbour's dress from the clothes line and Pawned that for 3s. At the Children’s Court to-day the inrl was charged with the theft of the iross. it was stated that the seconded dealer had already been fined for ''oing business with a child. She was the on jy one at home, with nobody to look after her,” pleaded the other. “She took the dresses to get pf 8 an( l cakes and two school books, jve had a big family and a lot of double. Three girls and a boy have * a k en from me.’* The mother admitted that the child . in trouble for sleeping out at "But she’s a good girl,” she declared. The girl was placed in the care of 1116 superintendent of child welfare.
