SUBURBAN FIRES

GRASS AND GORSE Further grass and gorse fires occurred in the suburbs yesterday. On vacant land at the bottom of Seaview Road, Remuera, about three acres of grass were burned and, although no damage, was done, the City Fire Brigade experienced great difficulty in extinguishing the fire with wet sacks. Gorse fires occurred in Lambeth Road, Mount Eden, and Calgary Street, Mount Albert, but no damage was done.
