DISTRICT FIRES
TWO AT TURUA Within an hour of each other two fires occurred yesterday afternoon at Turua. An unoccupied house in Waihou Street, owned by Bagnall Brothers, was destroyed, and the flames from it set fire to a neighbouring house. The arrival of a chemical extinguisher enabled the second house to be saved. The other 2fire was in ashed behind a house owned by Mr. C. Ansford, and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Didhivieh. The house was only saved with the assistance of passing motorists.
