SMOKE ROOM IN LAUNDRY VISITOR FINED £lO . WHEN police officers called at a 11 Chinese laundry in Wellesley Street they found doors barred and bolted. When the barriers were broken down they found one room fitted up for those who wished to find forgetfulness in smoking opium. At the Police Court to-day. Ah Kong was charged with having smokeuble opium in his possession. Detective Xalder told the court how difficult it had been to get inside the laundry. Kong, a visitor from Gisborne, had his holiday expenses increased bv .i fine of £ 10.
